I use a DPF and it sounds like you're doing everything right. They use a type of battery which maintains a relatively steady voltage over its life but then dies suddenly. Are you using a new battery? Hand held meters can go a bit wonky when the battery is low. The fact it worked after the battery was removed and inserted would make the battery a prime suspect. Thanks guys, and sorry for such a long post. I would happily admit to being wrong if somebody had the solution I am such a n00b to this stuff, but by the sounds of it, I did everything exactly as the instructions indicated. Has anybody got any advice here? I've hunted around the web for solutions and troubleshooting and I have come across another person who had the same issues 3 years ago but nobody replied to their post. Otherwise, that stupid F just sits there, mocking me. The only time I got an aperture reading was once only when I took the battery out and put it back in. I tried again and again, pointing the flashmeter head in all directions, adjusting the synch speed up and down, tried with and without the synch cable and nada, nothing, zip. The "F" symbol was present but it did not go away. As the instructions indicated, it did fire off a flash from the strobe, however it did NOT give me an aperture value. It sounded relatively straightforward, so I hooked up my strobe's synch cable, selected the lightning bolt symbol on the meter, set my desired synch speed (1/125) and pressed the M button.

The aperture for the share of ambient light is additionally indicated on the aperture scale (in our example f/8). In the left digital display, and as a flashing mark on the analog aperture scale. The measured aperture (total of flash and ambient light) appears Readiness prevails as long as F remains visible in the display) Synch range from 1 s to 1/1000 s (including 1/90 s)ĭigipro F is operable for metering for a period of 45 s (meter

#Fotometro gossen digipro f manual
I'm including the part of the manual that applies to me: I read the instruction manual at least ten times and I can't seem to figure my issue out. I bought myself a Gossen Digipro F flashmeter yesterday to use along with my studio lights.
